International Shipping & Terms
How to Place an International Order
- Add your desired items to your cart.
- Click the "Request Shipping Quote" button in your cart.
- You will be directed to a form — please fill in your name, email address, and shipping address.
- We will calculate the shipping cost based on your cart items' weight and your destination, then send you an invoice by email with multiple shipping quotes — one for each available shipping method.
- Once you choose your preferred shipping method and complete payment, we will proceed with your order.
Your payment is not finalized until you confirm and agree to the shipping fee.
Shipping
We ship internationally 2–3 times per week.
Shipping fees are calculated individually based on the total weight of your order and your destination country. We will notify you of the exact shipping cost by email before processing payment.
Available Shipping Methods
- EMS (Express Mail Service) — our standard method; fast and trackable
- International Air Packet — for small items up to 2 kg; trackable, delivered to mailbox
- Sea Mail — available for certain destinations; significantly longer delivery time

Important Notice Regarding Sea Mail
Sea Mail shipments are sealed inside containers for extended periods with little to no ventilation. For products made from natural materials — especially LAUHALA and other humidity-sensitive items — this significantly increases the risk of mold growth during transit.
We include silica gel packets in all Sea Mail shipments to help reduce moisture, but please be aware that this risk cannot be fully eliminated. We strongly recommend choosing EMS or International Air Packet when ordering LAUHALA products or other natural material items.

Please note: International shipping takes time. Delivery timelines vary by destination and shipping method. Please keep this in mind when placing your order.
Damage & Insurance
Before we ship your order, we take photos of every item to document its condition. We'll send these photos along with your tracking number once your package is on its way.
We do not offer returns or exchanges for international orders. However, we've got you covered for transit damage through shipping insurance.
EMS includes automatic insurance at no extra cost. For other shipping methods (International Air Packet, Sea Mail), insurance is available for a small additional fee (a few USD).
When we send your invoice, we'll include options with and without insurance for each shipping method, so you can choose what works best for you.
If your package arrives damaged, please contact us right away with photos of the damaged item and packaging — we'll help you file a claim with the carrier.
Returns & Exchanges
Due to the nature of our products and the risks associated with international shipping, we do not accept returns or exchanges for international orders, except in cases of a confirmed defect at the time of shipment (verified through pre-shipment photos).
Please be aware of the following before purchasing:
- Many of our products are made from natural materials (e.g., feathers, LAUHALA, natural fibers). Slight variations in size, color, and shape are inherent characteristics of these materials and are not considered defects.
- Colors may appear differently depending on your device's screen settings.
- Each item is handmade or sourced individually, and minor individual differences are expected.
Order Cancellations
Once an order is confirmed, cancellations are not accepted due to system and labor costs incurred at the time of order processing.
Please do not return items without prior contact and approval from our store. Unauthorized returns will not be eligible for refunds.

MAHANA-SHOP specializes in Tahitian dance costumes and accessories. Many of our products are:
- Made from natural materials (feathers, LAUHALA, natural fibers, shells, etc.)
- Handmade or individually crafted
- Sourced from overseas producers
Because of this, natural variations in size, color, and texture are to be expected and are part of the product's character.
